I Need Design Help - Now What?

Congratulations! You have jumped the first hurdle: admitting that you need help designing your new space! Like many things in life, this is the first and often, the most daunting step in a process toward growth. But now that you've decided to enlist help, what are the next steps? Here's a step-by-step guide to getting the biggest bang for your buck with your designer, and specifically with Sage & Sycamore Interiors.

1. Fill out the questionnaire.

Set aside 15-30 minutes to fully fill out my 15 item questionnaire. Commit to answering each question fully and attaching necessary photos and room measurements. While I am happy to help everyone, including clients who are unable to answer all of the questions, I am able to begin the room design process more quickly if the questionnaire is filled out in full detail. I need to have a complete understanding of the current state of your space, your goals for your space, existing items you'd like to use in your new design, items I'll need to source for your design, your budget (more on this in a bit!) and perhaps most importantly, your STYLE. Including Pinterest or Instagram accounts or photos that have inspired you really helps me to zero in on the look and style you're going for. Also be sure to send photos of your room. Stand in the center of the room and take a photo of each wall. Then stand near the edge of the room and get a few overall shots of the room from various vantage points. 2. Purchase your package.

Sage & Sycamore Interiors currently offers 5 main packages: Sage Advice, The Sapling (previously known as The Mini Refresh), The Spruce, The Sycamore, and The Sequoia. I will break down what is included in each package, but if you still can't decide, I will be happy to discuss your needs and budget with you to determine the best package for you or create a custom package to fit your needs.

Sage Advice - With this package, you will receive advice on a color palette, furniture layout and general styling tips for your space (1-2 rooms) for up to 90 minutes. I will come prepared with ideas based on your needs & goals and you will receive a link to my digital notes on your space. With this package, I do not source any specific items. This package is for you if:

- you like sourcing and shopping for your own items

- you are on a limited budget

- you have no idea where to begin but know changes need to be made in your space, especially layout and/or color palette

- you have a goal for your space and ideas for some items but need validation and general advice

The Sapling (Mini Refresh) - With this package, you can choose from TWO of the following items:

• color palette

• wall art

• lighting

• one accent furniture piece

• decorative pillows

• accessories for one mantel/table/set of shelves

• artificial plants

• Add'l item: $50 (For 4 or more, please purchase The Spruce)

- You will receive a design board with several options for each item and a clickable shopping list. This package is for you if:

- you just need help sourcing a few items

- you are on a limited budget

- you already have a vision for your room and most of your items chosen/purchased

- you would like to see how the process works without much of a commitment

The Spruce - With this package, you will receive up to one hour of design consultation via phone, a new color palette including paint colors, a design board with furniture, rug, wall art and accessories, a clickable shopping list, and up to two revisions. This package is for you if:

- you don't have time to shop for your items

- you have a style in mind but aren't sure how to achieve that look

- you would like your stylist to make decisions for you based on your thoroughly completed questionnaire, discussion and inspiration links/photos

The Sycamore - With this package, you will receive up to one hour of design consultation via phone, direct messaging with your stylist, new color palette including paint, mood boards with all elements to complete your room, up to 3 revisions of items in initial design, room design boards including each wall, floor plan, bird's eye and perspective, a clickable shopping list, styling tips to easily implement your new design, and 14 days of follow-up stylist support. This package is for you if:

- You want to be more involved in the selection process

- You would like to see how the finished product will look

- You have trouble visualizing how to set up your room

- You need more than four items sourced

- You are good at making decisions when presented with a few options

The Sequoia - With this package, you will receive up to one hour of design consultation via phone, direct messaging with your stylist, a new color palette including paint colors, a separate design board for each item type in your room (one for art, one for rugs, one for accent chairs, etc.), approve/reject buttons with multiple choices for each item, a room design board for each wall in the room, bird's eye, floor plan and perspective views, a clickable shopping list, styling tips to easily implement your design elements, and three weeks of follow up support. This package is for you if:

- You would like to be very involved in the selection process

- You are starting with a blank slate (or close to it)

- You want the works!

- You have trouble visualizing the how to set up your room and would like to see the finished product

- You have a larger budget

- You have a few weeks leeway and would enjoy working back and forth with your stylist on each of your items

- You are a bit indecisive sometimes

3. Get chatty!

I will contact you within 2 business days, according to your availability, to discuss your questionnaire in more detail. Simply be ready to discuss your goals for the space, budget, any obstacles, items you already have that you'd like to use, items that you'd like for me to shop for, and most importantly, your dream style/vision for the space. Make sure that you've sent over your room measurements, photos (one of each wall and a few overall shots), and inspiration accounts or photos.
